In 2000, Greg Smith started GS Enterprises in the basement of his suburban home in Kansas. Greg Smith had the vision to start a trucking company that valued hard work and treating people fairly. Greg has been in the trucking business his whole life. Starting with his father, Robert Smith, who was the owner of All Freight Systems. Greg has done just about every aspect of the trucking business starting with sweeping out trailers and cleaning meat hooks then working his way up to being a city driver in KC, then transitioning to delivering nationally. After decades of experience, Greg knew that he wanted GS Enterprises to be pure freight brokerage.
In 2003, Greg expanded and started Smith Transportation, a refrigerated owner-operator based truck line. Greg knew the importance of having any successful trucking company was having new well-maintained trailers supported by a group of loyal owner-operators. Greg believed in order to have dedicated and dependable drivers, you must treat drivers fairly and have an interest in their well being.
Smith Transportation continues with steady, consistent growth and has quickly developed a reputation in the industry as a top tier provider of refrigerated freight transportation.
